Abbey Lane -  This is a relatively new quilt design company.  Only started a couple of years ago, by 2 Canadian women who both love quilting. Their designs are fresh and modern, using large blocks of color/fabric and quick and easy appliqué. Perfect for men and women, young and old.

Alessandra Adelaide is the name of the fabulous designer of these great cross stitch designs. She is a European designer and that is evident from her designs. Many of them are small and quick and easy, but she also has fabulous larger designs.

Amy Bradley – Amy is from Kansas, and designs fabulous and fun appliqué quilts. They often feature animals (her husband is a vet) or cartoonish people (who we can all recognize). She has several Block of the Month patterns as well as individual designs.

French designer – mainly small and simple designs

Darcy Ashton does wonderful applique books - she has fabulous horses and dogs and cats and bunnies and more. Each of her books has lots of applique designs and wonderful quilt designs to make with the appliques.

Audrey & Maude – 2 fabulous Australian women (Cathy and Louise) who design fun softie animal/doll patterns and simple quilt designs.  Best known for their toy patterns, including a fabulous boy or girl robot.

Art to Heart – This is the pattern company of Nancy Halvorsen. Nancy has been designing quilts and fabric for many years. She has a large range of books, all with fabulous appliqué patterns. There are also pieced patterns but she is mainly known for her appliqué.

Wonderful appliqué patterns from several very talented people – some are realistic and some are just fun.

Bits N Pieces – an American patchwork pattern company. They have a wonderful range of designs, from simple pieced quilts to gorgeous appliqué designs. They also have a fun range of button accessories patterns – like bracelets and keyrings.

Two Lovely sisters from California who do wonderful stitchery and felt appliqué sewing accessories. Mainly redwork but also done in other colors.

BJ design – these are fabulous and fun quilts with appliqué animals in bright and colorful designs. Generally designed to go on walls, they also look great with added borders and put onto beds.

Well known Australian designer and winner of numerous prizes at quilt shows. Chris does a lot of paper pieced patterns – a bit of a challenge for inexperienced quilters, but well worth the effort. She also has some quick and easy pieced patterns, some with appliqué that are traditional in design but modern in feel.

Cori Blunt is Chitter Chatter, she does fabulous baby and child quilt patterns. As well as a few others such as ANTitude which makes a great picnic rug. Her designs are really sweet and done with easy piecing and beautiful appliqué. She also has a couple of very cute pincushion patterns.

The designer here is Natalie Lymer, she does fabulous stitchery and pieced designs. Some are quilts but she also has a wonderful range of stitcheries that can go on bags, be framed, made as pillows, the options are huge. Well worth a look.

Cleo’s Designs – this is a fabulous pattern company with designs by Cleo Mounday. Her designs are generally of beautiful and realistic flowers set in lovely border treatments and done as wall quilts to decorate your homes. All the patterns are done with fusible web and come with full size reversed patterns to make your work easier.

Country Keepsakes – Annie Smith is a lovely Australian lady (originally from Great Britain) who lives just up the road from me. She does some of the best cloth doll patterns I have seen. Her dolls are usually quite large, not necessarily designed to be played with by small children, but beautiful to have in your home. There is a large range of designs – all fun and fabulous.

Cozy Quilts – This is a fabulous US pattern company that specializes in quick and easy pieced quilt patterns. Most are designed for 2.5” strips, fat quarters, or 10” squares (known as layer cakes). They have an enormous range of designs, and many of them are perfect for the man in your life who doesn’t like most of your girly designs.

Don’t Look Now – Kellie Wulfson is a lovely lady from Victoria, Australia. She has 4 gorgeous kids and makes the cutest quilt patterns.  They are all designed to use raw edge appliqué and easy free motion quilting. Many have floral themes but there are also a few with wonderful kids designs,  there is sure to be the perfect quilt for your favourite boy or girl. There are also some fun and simpler pillow patterns.

Crabapple Hill – Meg Hawley is the designer for this fabulous pattern company. Her designs are mainly embroidery based, but she has quilts, pillows, sewing accessories, and many other beautiful things. She also has designs for making your ordinary bed linen into something quite beautiful. Any of her patterns would be treasured gifts for special people.

Dragon Charmer  - Jennifer Carson is a very talented woman who loves fantasy and has created a range of wonderful cloth patterns so that everyone else can have a little fantasy in their own lives. Her patterns are dragons, and faeries,  and unicorns, and goblins, and lots of other wonderful creatures.

From My Heart To Your Hands - This is a wonderful American quilt design company. The designer is Lori Smith, and she mainly does traditional designs, a lot of sampler quilts, but all with a slightly different feel. Her samplers are fun and initially do not look like sampler quilts. She also has a range of small project quilts, several in each pattern – these are fun and easy and look great hanging on a wall.

Gail Pan - Gail is an Australian designer who does lovely simple quilts and bags. Her designs are usually quite simple, often with pieced and appliqué blocks in the same quilt, and she uses a lot of gorgeous (and easy) stitchery as well. Her Christmas range is quite large and really cute.

Glendon Place - This is a lovely US cross stitch design company with a wide range of designs. Some are small and simple and some are quite complex, there is sure to be something for every cross stitch addict here. Many of Cheryl’s designs are for occasions, such as Christmas and Easter.

Gourmet Crochet – Carolyn Christmas is the designer at Gourmet Crochet. She has a wide range of gorgeous crochet patterns for women’s clothes, baby clothes, amigurumi (little toys), and other fun stuff. Her instructions are all written with American crochet terms, but they are quite easy to get used to.
